You can choose to use it either in a gel or cream, however, see your dermatologist first, because many people are allergic to it. Salcylic Acid – also one of the more popular medications for acne, salicylic acid prevents cells from renewing themselves inside the pores and therefore reduces the appearance of blockage. Whiteheads and blackheads are also reduced since the sebum and waste in them is broken down. Tetracycline – this antibiotic is taken orally, but has side effects. Skin cam become very dry and sun sensitive. Pregnant women are advised not to take this because bone growth in fetuses can be inhibited. It can also discolor teeth.
